Levaquin (Levofloxacin)

Levaquin is an antibiotic, used to treat serious forms of a bronchitis, pneumonia, chlamydia, gonorrhea and infectious deseases of skin.

For definition of the necessary dosage read operating instructions of Levaquin.

Wash down Levaquin with a large amount of water, take it every day at the same time to get effective results of treatment.

During treatment with Levaquin it is recommended to drink more liquids in order to avoid formation of Levaquin crystals in urine.

Pass a complete treatment course with Levaquin in order to cure the desease completely. Continue treatment even if you felt better in some days.

Levaquin - is an antibiotic of fluoroquinolone series, it stops reproducing of bacteria.

If you missed your planned intake of Levaquin, take it as soon as possible. If this time coincides with your nex regular intake - skip the dose and continue to take it as usual.

Levaquin should be stored at 15-25 degrees C, in protected from high temperature, humidity and light place, away from children.

Intake of Levaquin is contraindicative if:

• you have an allergy to the medicines, based on quinolone (for example, ciprofloxacin);
• you have irregular heartbeat, low level of potassium in your blood;
• you take cisapride or some of the antiarrhythmics (for example, amiodarone, procainamide, quinidine, sotalol).

• if you are breast-feeding, pregnant or want to become pregnant;
• if you have any kind of dietary allergy or drug allergy;
• if you have in anamnesis stenocardia, diabetes, liver problems, renal problems, tendon problems (eg, inflammation), or Alzheimer disease;
• if you have problems with brain pressure, with nervous system, problems with blood vessels in brain;

• Antiarrhythmics, arsenic, astemizole, cisapride, dofetilide, droperidol, haloperidol, imidazoles, macrolides, methadone, paliperidone, phenothiazines, pimozide, ranolazine, serotonin receptor antagonists, telithromycin, terfenadine, ziprasidone, insulin or oral diabetes medicines, corticosteroids, anticoagulants, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors.

If following side effects are constant, consult with your doctor:

• Diarrhea; giddiness; meteorism; faintness; a nausea; a stomach ache.

• disturbance; stomach upset; giddiness; a headache; appetite loss; nightmares; sight deterioration; nausea and retching, abdominal pain, rash, headache, and restlessness, confusion, hallucinations, pale or yellowed skin, dark coloured urine, easy bruising or bleeding.
